Description:
Kilrossanty takes its name from the townland on which the ancient church stands, or rather the townland gets its name from the church and the parish is called from both. Mountainous and secluded, the region preserves an unusually large number of interesting names. Three considerable rivers - the Dalligan, Mahon and Tay - have their origin in the parish. The parish abounds in “coums� or mountain hollows.
